Ben Thomas added to his burgeoning collection of awards as he picked up the Newcomer of the Year Award at the Principality Premiership Awards last night.
The 20-year-old has been a key member of the Cardiff RFC team that finished second in the league and won the WRU National Cup this season, forming centre partnerships with Blue and Black stalwart Will Rees-Hole and fellow Cardiff Blues academy member Max Llewellyn.
He has also linked up effectively with fly-half Gareth Thompson, forming a dual playmaking threat that has seen Cardiff score 129 tries and almost 1000 points in 2018/19, with Thomas grabbing 10 tries of his own across 19 games.
The former Cardiff and Vale College 1st XV captain featured in the Celtic Cup earlier in the season, but will be hoping to take a more prominent role with Cardiff Blues A this coming September before stepping up to the Cardiff Blues team in the Guinness Pro14.
Thomas has already taken home the Cardiff Blues Academy Player of the Year Award this season, and is set to be awarded his Cardiff RFC club cap at the end of year dinner on Friday 14th June at The Exchange Hotel, Cardiff Bay.
Tickets for the event, hosted by Carolyn Hitt, are priced at £50 and can be purchased from Abbie Gibbins on 02920233101 or via abbie.gibbins@cardiffathleticclub.co.uk
