Cardiff Blues centre Willis Halaholo will stay with the club beyond the end of the season after signing a new contract to continue plying his trade at the Arms Park.
The 28-year-old has made 57 appearances in all competitions since arriving in the Welsh capital fresh from winning Super Rugby with the Hurricanes in 2016.
13 tries and some extraordinary footwork, as well as an engaging social media style, have made Halaholo a fan favourite since then, with his ‘#LESSSGOOO’ becoming a catchphrase of sorts.
With the emergence of Harri Millard and Garyn Smith there has been a battle for game time this season, but the battle is on for Willis as he signs a new long-term contract.
He will now become eligible to play for Wales after the World Cup, and has previously stated he would be open to pulling on the red jersey if selected.
Speaking to the Cardiff Blues official website about his new deal, Halaholo said, “I’m really happy to sign a new contract at Cardiff Blues. The welcome I have received since I arrived here has been awesome and my family absolutely love it.
“This has definitely become our home and I’m really excited about what the future holds for Cardiff Blues.
“We showed our potential last season by winning the European Challenge Cup and with so many exciting young players we can continue building and improving.
“We have a massive few weeks coming up and it would be an awesome achievement to make the Guinness PRO14 play-offs. That is my sole focus right now but looking further ahead we have a massive amount of potential and I want to be part of that.”
