Cardiff Blues will host Leicester Tigers and travel to Exeter Chiefs for pre-season friendlies with the Aviva Premiership sides as we find out the first details games under new head coach John Mulvihill.
The visit of Leicester will be the first game, taking place at the Arms Park on Saturday 11th August with a 14:30 kick-off, as Matt O’Connor’s side make the trip to the Welsh capital for the first time since an Anglo-Welsh Cup game in February 2015.
Leicester, who finished fifth in last season’s Aviva Premiership, missing out on the play-offs courtesy of having won less games than Newcastle Falcons, were the hosts last time the two sides played in pre-season when 12 points from Rhys Patchell wasn’t enough to prevent a 17-21 defeat.

It will be the second season on the bounce we will face Rob Baxter’s men in a warm-up, after we defeated the then English champions 21-20 at the Arms Park in the final game before this season.
The game, on Saturday 18th August, will also see Cardiff Blues reunited with Alex Cuthbert, just a few months after the Wales and Lions winger made the move across the border after seven seasons with Wales’ capital region.

August’s game, which will kick off at 3pm, will be Exeter’s second pre-season fixture, after playing local rivals Cornish Pirates the night before at the Mennaye Field.
The 2018/19 Guinness Pro14 season will then get underway on the weekend of the 31st August/1/2 September.
