The senior team got their pre-season campaign up and running on Sunday with a defeat away to English Women’s Super Rugby side Gloucester/Hartpury, a 41-10 score line not bad in the first pre-season game against a side made up from two well established clubs.

This then leads into the ‘Women’s Super 5s’, a showcase event with RGC, Scarlets, Ospreys, Dragons and Cardiff Blues Women’s and U18s teams playing each other in shortened matches.

Caerphilly’s Constructaquote Stadium plays host to the event on Sunday 1st October, with the first game kicking off at 11am.

The WRU National Championships will then get underway later in the month.

If you are interested in sponsoring either of the Cardiff Blues Women’s team this season then contact Womens and Girls lead Mark Hutton at

Or, if you are interested in playing, then contact WRU Game Changer Katy Evans at for information on where to get started in the Cardiff Blues region.

Cardiff Blues community rugby department also ran a very successful girls only rugby camp for girls aged 6-15 at the Arms Park over the summer, keep an eye on for similar events coming up in future school holidays.
